The white wagtails are late in Beringia this year.

On May 27th the first wagtails were observed (Motacilla Alba L.). It is a little bit late in spring 2011. Usually they came at the beginning of the 20-ss in May. Though the wagtail confirmed the nature sign – the wagtails flew and broke the ice on the rivers with their tails. We also need to mention that this sign belongs almost all ethnicities of Russia – from its western areas to Chukotka. There is a special attention to this bird, which is so common to the Chukotkan coas, because the Russian Union for birds preservation chose white wagtail as the “symbol of the year.” The inspectors of the Beringia park are also plan to pay attention to white wagtail in 2011.
